clearence question

just bought a 318 to do for next year as a replacement for the 273 in my 64 valiant ,and i want to use an air gap manifold and a 650 demon carb,does anyone use this set up and do they have any issues with bonnet clearence ,and what sort of air filter do they use as i do not want to chop it about

i think the demon is the same size as a holley

I have an air gap with a Holley and the stock chrome 273HP air cleaner, used a 2.75" tall K&N filter. Whatever you use, you will need to measure after the motor is in & find the lowest point, there's really no other way to make sure it will fit.

I had a MoPar M-1 with a 750 and the M.P. cast lid air cleaner with a 3" element and a flat base on my '65 dart.......it just cleared.
This was a 273 car , but had a 340 in it.
But the M-1 is a tall bugger , so I think you should be alright.
