hey guys...were looking for a clutch that will hold from 800hp to about 1000hp....and maybe drive it on weekends....dont matter if it wont be streetable.. not worried about that ill take it out anyway.. any help is appriciated

My son needs to explain why he is looking for clutch advice... We are looking into running a turbo on his 68 383 Dart. From what we have found out and been told it could hit the 800 hp range with 15 lbs of boost. So far we have not been able to find a clutch that doesnt cost as much what we give for the car. Mcleod does make a clutch that will hold 600+ hp and still streetable without having to rev the motor and slip the clutch so that it dont chatter so bad...
This was to clear things up a little...

Thanks

It will have to be a multiple disc set up. This is not going to be cheap as the peripherals to install it will also be expensive and may even need to be made special.

800 is a lot of horsepower and the A-833 may not be up to the task. This is where you start looking at Jerichos, Libertys, Lencos or Jeffcos. There are other units out there but no matter how you slice it it's not going to be cheap.

BTW you'll be spending a lot of cash on the engine so don't scrimp on the trans or clutch either. A car's performance is a package deal, all the pieces have to work in harmony.
