Clutch linkage

Ok, on the clutch pedal rods the holes are "D" shaped, now is there anything that goes in there to help take up the slack? When you slip it over the pin's, like on the Z bar there seems to be a lot of slack.

There is a spring that goes from the bellhousing to the clutch fork that maintains tension on the components.

The D shaped holes are correct.
