With the cowl of the '65 Formula S torn-up and renewal underway, it is time to decide on what product to use to coat the area under the ventilator slats where the air/water enter. My first choice was to use a black, two-part truck bed coating (but no one will ship it here). On the shelf in Mexican stores, I can only find a one-part product by Dupli-Color, which has awful reviews on Amazon.

The gentleman that just finished the sand-blasting, recommended a marine product used in this area which is a two-part epoxy with coal tar. I don't know if a similar product is even available in the United States, it will be interesting to find out if any forum members are familiar with what product I am talking about here.

The spec sheets says it has good adhesion and flexibility, and excellent resistance to corrosion and excellent resistance to oils, fresh water, and salt water. It appears that might be a suitable product. Once the top of the cowl is welded/glued back on, I don't have any plans of ever taking that complex of parts apart ever again! The "black" in the fotos is just a spray-on Rust-Oleum rust convertor I used on the patches during this interim waiting period.
