Collapsible steering column?

Hey guys and gals;

I was just curious what year the collapsible steering columns were added as a safety feature in cars like these A-Bodies. I have a '66 Valiant and was wondering if there was any chance mine has one? I am just curious for safety's sake. My dad has a '67 Camaro and I know that that has one. I am also aware that is GM, newer, and a completely different platform, I am just using it as a benchmark!
