I am restoring a 68 Cuda vert. It was built w/a /6 but I got it without a motor. I am trying to keep it as original as possible with a few exceptions. I did pick up a /6 with trans from a 68 Dart. What color should the motor be as it came from the factory in the cuda?

Red
# The smaller engines offered in the 1968 Barracuda were all painted red. These are the one available inline six-cylinder engine, the 225 cubic inch displacement Slant Six, and the 318 c.i.d. and 340 c.i.d. V-8s. This was the first year of production for the small-block 340, and many enthusiasts view it as the best total performance combination of both power and handling available in the Barracuda.

I believe it was red in 68 but it could have been light mopar blue.. I never looked :study:
I will do some serching around this morning and see what I can find out

Thanks much! How about the valve cover-manifold and air cleaner?

I would bet it was repainted. The crankcase breather should be black.
