Column shift knob

Looking for a column shift knob for my 62 val, does not need to be original or even necessarily a shift knob. I'd just like something better than a 5/16 nut! If someone has a suggestion that is cheep/easy I'd appreciate it. I've been off work for the last 2 weeks and probably will be for at least another 3-4 weeks (broken leg in three places) so I need to keep expenses down as much as possible.

Do you think a column shifter rod and knob from a 67-76 Dart will work? If so I have a few.

Knob has 5/16" internal threads, and I don't need the lever. I need to keep the price down as much as possible right now, I'd just like something better than an acorn nut for the knob.
