Column shifter linkage

I have a 73 Duster that currently has the 6 cyl on the column with the 904 tranny. Installing a 360 with a V8 904 tranny ...can anyone tell me if the column linkage I currently have will still work with the V 8 904 tranny with my heddman headers? If not what is the best auto floor shifter to use in my duster with bench seats? Thanks..Tim

While doing some investigation into headers it looks like a lot of them say you have to flip the frame rail end bracket for the column shift's "Z" bar in order for it to clear. Since I'm going to a stick I don't guess I'll have first hand knowledge of this. But that is what the installation instructions say.
