Column to Floor Shifter

I am wanting to convert to a floor shifter and want to get rid of the column shift handle and gear indicator. Is there an easier way of doing this other than replacing the whole steering column? This is a power steering car.

You can do what i did.I cut the end off that the shifter bolts to and filled it in with metal and bondo to a smoth finsh looks good.
