A reputable local performance engine builder told me a while back that he quit using Comp. He had trouble with several bad flat tappet hydraulic lifters that ruined lobes. His Comp rep told him that all their lifters come from China, and they don't have time to inspect or test them. That is what he told me. He also said he no longer builds engines with flat tappet hydraulic lifters. If you want hydraulic, it has to be roller.

Engine builder degreed my comp hyd roller this week and had to advance it quite a bit to get it to the recommended ICL.
The evolution hyd roller lifters look good he says.

Custom rollers ground on billet cores have the profile positioned so the least amount of material has to be removed from critical areas during the grinding process.
As a result, the profile may not be indexed to the pin(which is already in the semi-finished core) so that the c/l ends up where you’d like it when the timing set is “dot-to-dot”.
This is just another reason why you should always degree the cam.

This is not a “QC” issue.

Is the pushrod seat short enough to make it out of the lifter before it hits the link bar rivet or bolt??

It is.
They come right out.

With it being such a pain in the *** working with customer disservice I ended up just buying a pair from summit and I'll keep these bodies with rollers for spares.
Not ever buying a comp thing again/ f the Edelbrock group.

As I've stated. If you ship anything, box and pack so it can survive re-entry from outer space.

I have one that had semi tire tracks over the box courtesy of FedEx. The 69 RR/GTX air grabber boxes inside weren't happy!

Comp, Ede, holley have been bought out by private equity groups whose sole purpose is to extract cash from the operation and leave a shell 95% of the time.

Just want to be clear, I didn’t package any of the boxes that I posted picks of. Those were shipped TO me from various suppliers.
