Hi , this an 07 ram 5.7 hotwire harness and computer.
The first unknown computer i had wouldnt fire the injectors so i ordered a 2nd hand one from hotwire re flashed to suit their loom.
The engine cranked , fired and ran for say 5 seconds and i turned it off to check for leaks.
Attempted to re fire the engine and the relays chattered and then it all died.
Turns out the earth switch in the computer for both the crank and fuel pump relays has fried.
I can run an earth from both these relays and the engine runs idles revs etc .
The only problem with these bypasses is that the fuel pump doesn't cut out when the ignition is in the on position.I guess there's a fuel pressure switch on the rail to cycle the fuel pump?
Anyway before i decide to either leave the bridge wires in or order yet another computer , any ideas on why this would happen?
