Auburn? Borg-Warner? Which rear axle?
Honestly I didn’t know there were different ones. It’s out of a 71 Dart with a 8.75” 741 case. Is there a way to identify one or the other?

The OE Borg-Warner has a case that can be split by removing bolts inserted from the ring-gear flange. The Auburn is a one-piece casting where all the parts come out through the side opening. All the 8¾" castings use the same B-W or Auburn units, but there are B-W (factory) and Auburn (aftermarket) units for 7¼", 8¼", and 9¼" axles that use different parts--that's why I asked which axle you had.

There are two different factory Borg-Warner cone-types for the 8¾", but the only difference of which I'm aware is the diameter of the case bolts. The internals are the same.

Thank you for that. It’s definitely a OE Borg-Warner unit.
