There is a used car dealer on U-Tube who goes to car auctions. He shows videos and explains how the system works. He also goes to new car dealerships with a camera and shows the lines and lines of brand new cars and trucks. Some of the dealers even have an area for 'pre repo' cars. He claims that new vehicles are not selling well because of high prices and higher interest rates. And yet the new car sales are shown to be pretty steady. New words -- pre repo and lot rot.

So my question is, do they count new car sales when they are sold to people or businesses ; or do they count new car sales when they become part of a 'floor plan'?
