I have a 68 Barracuda 340 which I installed a coolant overflow reservoir, to help recover some of the coolant and not lose it on the ground. But even with the reservoir its still unloading coolant on the floor, why? is this normal, what is causing this.

Is the radiator to full, you want to keep it just above the core. What pressure radiator cap do you have, it maybe old or not a high enough pressure cap.

You need a coolant recovery type cap. That way when the thing cools down, it creates a vacuum in the rad which sucks the coolant back into the rad.
Make sure the hose from the rad to the recovery tank goes to within 1 inch from the bottom of the tank.

The cap is new, not sure what the pressure is, I would need to check. It was bought at the Chrysler dealer and they now only have the one type available.
