Correct 340 Dart hood blackout?

I have seen the hoods painted black between the "ridges" on the hood and the outer portions are body color. Did they paint the fresh air cowl black to match the area between the ridges on the hood or leave it the body color (only the hood received black paint or the hood and cowl?
