Now that MOPAR Leo is no longer rebuilding door hinges, I'm wondering if the following would work for the driver's door on my 1974 Duster. Summit Racing will sell you an entire new hinge assembly. How about just buying this part and painting it. I would then use my jack to support the weight of the door while I unbolt the lower hinge. I would mark the hinge's location with masking tape before removal. Then I'd just install the new hinge assembly where the old one came out, while the upper hinge remains in place. Could this work, as I've never tried it before?

Either way you have to be prepared to adjust your doors which is not too hard if you leave one hinge on. I rebuilt my hinges. Again, not too difficult.

Make sure that the door is supported up and down as well as in and out. Once you crack those bolts I've seen doors to some strange things.
Yeah, I borrowed one of these from a friend up here. He said put pillows on either side of the door while it's in the mount. That way it can't slide around too much. I thought I'd just jack it up to relieve the weight, then remove and replace the lower hinge. The upper hinge seems fine.
