Good pointIf your going to try to make the column shift work, I wouldent cut those nubs off the bellhousing just yet then. You may need them on there to attach a homemade bracket for the column shift cross bar.

I am using the stock EFI so I should be able to use the stock kick down cable. At least I hope I can. Hopefully the the 318/42rh and the 360/46rh have similar configurationI am also deciding on how I will do a TV cable (kick down) . I was considering modifying a stock setup to use with a carburetor. This way if the cable goes bad I can just pick up a new stock cable from anywhere. Jegs has a cable kickdown. Not sure if it's a repackaged Lokar one or a knockoff. People have had good luck with the lokar cable kick downs. If you find an aftermarket cable kickdown t hff at says its for A727 - A904 it will work with your 42RH.
I look through the archives a lot on here. Screen shot a lot of ideas and file it away. Some of it i elect to use, or modify to suit. Some of it I delete. Point is, theres a lot of stuff on fabo to hunt thru till you find ideas on stuff you like, or can modify to suit your needs.I looked over you thread. Wish I would have seen it 2 days ago. Everything I had read said remove the whole crossmember arch so I already cut it out. I will definitely use it for further reference.
He cannot use a B&M flex plate because he is keeping the stock Magnum fuel injection. That I dont know. A 42RH should no counterweight on it because 318s and 3.9s are internally balanced. My 42RH out of a V6 had no counterweight on it. I am going to use a regular small block flex plate. You probably should use a neutral balance converter, get a flex plate for an externally balanced 360 like one from B&M. When I put an engine together I have my machinest internally balance the rotating assemblies to eliminate the special external balancing crap. Maybe somebody else can chime in as to weather or not the 99 360 converter will fit and work on a 42RH.
