I was checking out the rear window trim the other day on my 68 Barracuda fastback and found it loose in spots. So I bought a window trim tool and started to remove some of the trim to see why it was loose. It appears the clips were damage previously or just plain rusted the ends.

Number 1 question: Is there a way to replace them with out removing the glass and gasket.I'm betting I'll have to but I just want to confirm it.
It's a shame if I do the glass and gasket are in good condition.

Question#2: If I have to remove the glass what's the best way to store it.
Lay it flat or make a frame of some sort and store it on end. If I have to
this probably won't be done until painting time comes.

thanks for any answers

mine was the same way. half my clips were rusted. most likely you will have to remove the glass. store it right side up, use pipe insulating foam around the edge that will keep it from chipping. the glass is actually pretty strong. it is a structurally integral piece for our cars across the back half of the car. its just like the hood inserts are there to strengthen the hood.

Thanks for the info redfastback.
I figured I'd have to pull the glass but I wanted to make
sure.I was hoping someone would have some kind of trick to do it
with out pulling it.

Thanks again appreciate the help.
