Hey guys,
I'm working on rebuilding two steering columns and have a couple questions about them.
The first one I'm doing is the original out of my car, 72 Auto P/S Column shift and the second one is a 73 P/S Floor shift column.
In my bag of parts for the 73 floor shift column, I have this spring (first photo) and I'm not sure where it goes. Anybody have a picture perhaps? There wasn't a similar spring in my parts for the 72 column shift version. I have a FSM for the 72 and dont see this spring on the exploded view.
My second question is what is the function of this part on the backside of the middle column sleeve (second photo)? This is on my 72 Column shifter, the 73 floor shifter doesn't have this (holes aren't even threaded). I just want to make sure that the floor shift column is supposed to be missing that. Again, the FSM for the 72 column shifter doesn't mention or show it.
