Hello,

I’m in the process of rebuilding the front suspension on my 73 Dart. After removing the upper and lower control arms on the passenger side, I discovered what appears to be a crack in the frame, right above where the frame bolts to the K member. Is this common, and how do I fix it?
I appreciate any insight.

Hey Joe, unless the car is going to be a concourse car couldn't the crack be welded up by someone that knows what they are doing and if then one felt as though it needed additional support a plate could be welded over the crack for more support. Key phrase "Someone that knows what they are doing". Just asking.

looks from the pics that the k-frame pulled right off the rusted frame. i would rather cut the section out and replace it with frame section.. shouldn't be too hard to do. definatley get a guy that is good with the welder. friend did it with his cuda, didn't have to replace the entire frame rail. just up past the rust to good metal and replaced it with a good section of rail.
