Craigs List scams

Scammers are now using E-bay auctions to to provide the photos, and detail, on cars they are advertising for sale. I looked at a Dodge Demon on Craigs list last night for $4500. I found the same car on E-bay with a reserve of over $21000. I tried to E-mail the add for a location of the car. The add was quickly pulled. If it seems to good to be true, it usually is. There's lots slimeballs out there, be careful when buying on the net. Howard

They've been doing this for a while now. One of the quickest ways to identify the scam is to ask for a phone #. Scammers are reluctant to give #'s out (gee, I wonder why?) Also, these scammers will claim the car is in an out of state location. They will also ask you to wire money sight unseen. Never, EVER do that.

A lot of these ads are also cut and paste jobs from previous ads or from other regions.

If you are looking at a car on Craigslist and not sure if it is a scam. Post it on this site and I'll find out really fast if it's a scam.
