Just scored a complete 904 trans with 10k on it since rebuilt for 40 bucks.
Guy pulled it out to go to a 518. Now I have a couple questions, I am going to replace my /6 with a small block, what shift kit is everyone using? also can I reuse my kickdown cable or do I have to buy a new one? I have a single barrel carb on my /6.
thanks

Don't know if everybody uses it but Trans-go makes the best shift kits. The TF-1 is a heavy duty type kit. TF-2 is the street/strip kit. Both work great. Little more work to install than the basic B&M or TCI kit but much better.

About the cable: from the factory they had linkage. Somebody must have changed it if it's cable kickdown. It'll probably work but you may have to do something to the bracket that goes near the carb to make it bolt up. Then you'll probably have to adjust the cable.
