I picked up a 85 360 tore it down and notice 6 rods had 2899496 pressed pin and 2rods cylinder 3and5 had 3418645 pressed pins also is this right or have someone been in this block ? Crank number 20277169 , block number 4179930-360-2 , could some one help me , the 6 rods showing they are 340 rods I'm lost , would it hurt any thing with mixed match rods numbers ?

Motor was in 1 ton truck , four barrel motor, is this motor suspose to have these rods in it or was 2 been replaced ?

The 2899496 rod is a 68-73 rod,the 3418645 is a 76-87 318 rod,both having the same center to center length.As long as they weight the same,they is not a balancing issue.The 2899486 rod is a floating rod,so this means some one was in there before,mrmopartech 450 424 0445

They are all pressed pined , I read a guy had same issues as I have . Could they done this from factory ? To my beleive the motor have never been apart

This could have been done as you need to bore the small end to a non bushed size and if the rod is going to be bushed, they just go bigger. So if they are short rods, they just balance them and install them, done deal.mrmopartech
