I just bought a 340 that was all apart. The crank is a forged crank but the mains were turned down .030, the rod journals were still standard.

Is this crank still strong enough for a blower application? I would like to know before I start to clean it up. (it has a little surface rust)

I wouldn't risk it on a blower application, .030" is a lot of extra bearing thickness, which is not has hard as the forged steel. You don't have much case hardening left after taking off .030".

My .02, for a bump also.
