Someone told me that I may need a crankshaft adapter to use my current T converter. The swap I my do is from my current 1966 273...to a 1985 318. He said that the crankshaft register my be different, and the there were adapters to solve this problem. Can someome give me some information about this? and were to get this adapter if I do this swap. Thanks Guys.

found this with the search button:)

Before 68 they used a 19 spline input shaft with a small torque converter hub (1.55" vs. 1.81" o.d. in 68 and later). If he has a 67 or earlier trans. he'll also need an adapter ring to install on the torque converter pilot hub so it fits in the 318/360 crankshaft properly. Only place I know to get them is e-bay. Look up the seller "torqueflitepatty"

Thanks for the information. I also searched for this, just not in the right places I guess.

I put a 67 273 crank in a 340 back in 76. Checked all the measurements and thought they were the same, well the converter wouldn't go in the crank

Used a roto file to open it up

Boy being young and stupid makes for a lot of work and a vibrating engine

Make sure the balance on converter is right also.
