I have recently set my new engine and 727 in place in my 69 dart. I have replaced a /6. I believe I can use the same cross member. I am using a trans shield. When I try to push the rear of the trans up into place the cross member lacks about 1" reaching the point to where I can place the bolts through. I can tell the shield is pushing against the tunnel. The x-member rubber mount that came with the 727 is the same as the /6 trans piece. They are 3 1/4" tall. Can I get a shorter rubber isolator mount or a different x-member?
If it matters, I have a 400 and a new AlterKation with the spool mounts. The shield is the CRT. Thanks in advance!

you need to modify the floorboard/ trans tunnel up where the weld is, its like a pinch weld, and some just take a hammer and flatten it to make room. with the shield you need even more room. with my 74 dart and 383 and 727 its tight but i didnt have to touch anything.
