Cruise-in tonight. Parked beside an e-'body

-
For many, the muscle car crowd doesn’t recognize a 66 Barracuda as car in their ‘class’. But how many early A-Bodies do you see at events? Great looking Barracuda you have there

Absolutely right. We've been here a year and a half and haven't seen any other 1st Gen Barracudas.

No he doesn't. He's REAL heavy in the Vegas car show and cruise in scene. His Facebook account is SLAM FULL of pictures he takes everywhere. While whatever he drove sits elsewhere. So yeah, he wanders. LOL

I didn't get pictures of it myself but here are two of the Lamborghini Huracon STO that was there last night. The group that put on the cruise-in (Pirates on the Panhandle) posted them.

Our University Ave. cruise on Labor Day got a few hundred cars. A later model Corvette parked next to my 64. They either left or moved because they only stayed for about 30 min. I had a lot of action around my car. No one around their car. The old Mopars were the cars people's parents and grandparents had and are approachable because of the memories. New Corvettes not so much.

Many E-body owners are converted Chevy people . Fickle ! in the old days the owners of E-bodies appreciated all Mopars . And I assume some still do….

I’ve driven E-Bodies with /6 , 383 , 440 , 440-6 and Hemis .
While they are fantastic looking I would rather drive your car .
You sit very low in E-Bodies and they tend to be somewhat rattly . The Hemi Cuda was amazing to drive though !
Funny you say that (sit very low, rattly) I feel the same way. Don't like the low, low slung feel. A lot of the sports cars are that way. I prefer a real Muscle car like our A-bodies that is based on an every day car with a big engine. They are a lot more comfortable. My uncle had a 68 Corvette (327) low slung, low to the ground, stiff and rattly. Terrible ride, but It looked like a million bucks on the outside. I would choose my Duster 360 over that Corvette any day of the week

Well it would be hard to pass on a 57 Vette in Roman Red with white inlets and red interior. I might put up with a few rattles… lol.
Funny thing is I even like driving my 68 Barracuda more than my 69 340 4sp Swinger. It feels so much smaller . Weird….

...and will NEVER do that again.

A fairly new pizza joint had their first cruise'in so wife and I went. There was a spot open beside a 70 Barracuda so I thought, cool, Mopar guys stick together.

The owners were sitting in lawn chairs behind their car. As I was getting out of my car, I say to them, what's the chances that two Barracudas park beside each other?

The wife muttered something under her breath and the guy didn't say a word. Nothing. - Nada - Zilch

Guess what they say about e-body owners is true.

Enjoy some pictures!!

Don't worry about it..

Your car looks great!

Awesome color!!

C'mon I own an E-body and I'm not that way.
People are people there is always one in the crowd.
I am an E-body owner as well (actually have had 4 of them), but I have had multiple A-bodies as well. There are those owners in every crowd- Vettes, Vipers, Hemi owners, Hellcat owners - I am one of those as well, Redeye owners, etc,etc...
I think those exist in every group, so I think it's the person, not the group... I enjoy and appreciate all cars and what people do to them - even if it's not my preference...

This ^^^^

You are either an asshat or not. The make and model of the car you drive has nothing to do with it. Was sounding like this thread needed to be in N&P with all the labels and categorizing being applied.

Exactly and I'll go further. How many MOPARS do you see at events compared to everything else? You'd THINK Mopar guys would stick together, but NOOOOOOOO.

I'll talk to anyone about their car. Shoot, I'll talk to a fence post if I knew it would talk back.

It was just something that hadn't happened before parking next to an e-body for the first time..

I was more disheartened than pissed.

I've had some experiences with a certain mopar group from a large city in Cali. Bunch of snot nosed a-holes when I was running around in my Swinger 340. Say nice ride, answer Yeah I know... not thanks or appreciate it... yeah I know. F off. Wasn't a B or E so not worthy of being spoken too or with.
As Rusty said, they are all Mopars, nope... attitude.
I'll check out a /6 E convertible before looking at another original or cloned hemi E variant.

Give me a LS6 or a 68-69 396/375hp Chevelle, 70.5 z28, Goat with a ram air IV, 69-70 Mach 1 or 70 Torino 351C or a SCJ in it. Take them all. Prefer my mopars (esp 440-6's) and I've had some cool ones over the years.

As I used to tell my employees, no customer ever pisses you off... you allow that customer to piss you off. Same applies here. Just move on from the a-hole group.

Consider it their loss, my friend. I missed you movin to Florida. When did that happen? lol

I’ve had some good talks with inanimate objects. God is always willing to listen!!

Thanks! It was a quick thing.

The company I was working for was bought out by a Billion dollar company. Shortly after my boss was "down-sized" and I just had a feeling my number was coming. So I stzrt looking and a see an opening online fir a site manager for the custodial contract on Hurlburt Field Air Force Base in Fort Walton Beach Florida. Well, I jumped on the chance to work on a Base again.

I accepted the position on a Tuesday and figured I'll tell my new boss on Friday. On Thursday I get a video conference request and they "down-sized" me. Jokes on them!! I didn't say anything because I got a small severance. That was almost a year and a half ago.

We chose Navarre to live and bought a house the same day we closed on our house in Rome. God Is Good.

Never I. My life did I think I'd live in Florida. We love it, I just need get busy installing A/C in the Barracuda, lol.

Well cool. It's always amazing to see God at work.

It's kinda hard when the guy's wife is mumbling under her breath and her nose is pointing straight up in the air. lol probably better the husband didn't open his mouth.
And that could be part of it too.... Those women who don't want to be where they are can really make trying to be sociable difficult... Not saying that's the case & it doesn't excuse the guys behavior...

But I've been at events with a woman that was not happy... Which meant I wasn't gonna be happy... For the past thirty years I've been with a car girl... She at the very least tolerates my hobby & often actually enjoys it....

But it's not often I do car shows or cruise in type events.. We are more into driving, we organize group drives, anywhere from 3-4 cars up to 30+ cars... We pick stops along the way where there are wineries, apple orchards, small mountain communities... Places the women (and men) enjoy stopping at...

More of a rolling car show...

All I'm saying is that's a pretty broad brush to paint all E body owners as pricks when this is the first time you've parked beside one....
