I never went there, I heard prices were pretty high, when they would sell something.

Little yard down here has been crushing for 2 years now.
Never had a sign, one day I saw the door open and went in.
Guy stopped me and told me the owner never sells anything.
I just don't get some people.

I bought a few things years ago.. And prices were not cheap or reasonable IMHO but they were the only yard with the part.

I went to CTC many years ago to look at a 77-78 Power Wagon. I had called prior to going and was told they would discuss the price once I looked at the truck. I get there and it's obvious they took pictures of the good stuff and not the bad. They were asking $8,000 for the truck and I walked away. The cab floors were iffy at best, the wood in the bed was rotted to nothing, the underdash wiring was an electrical nightmare, the carburetor was sitting in the intake manifold and the rodents had a full blown condo in the intake. If they get $200.00 taking it across the scales, I'd be surprised.

They were known for their high prices, a friend of mine paid $125 for a dipstick tube for his torque flight from them

Not sure if it's the same place or not, I think it is, we bought a pair of taillights for our Ventura from them about 14 years ago. Paid $300.00 plus shipping, and they only sent the lenses, not the whole assembly as I was expecting. (They are glued together originally)
Lenses were in ok shape, but far from being worth $300.00 usd. A year later I found a guy in Eastern Canada who was parting out a Ventura, contacted him and he sold me both assemblies, shipped across the country for $75.00 cad. I sent him an extra $50.00.

I used to frequent that place in the mid to late nineties. They were crazy expensive back then and in my opinion had already been stripped of the good stuff long before I ever got there.

Sad to see another yard disappearing, but it really doesn't surprise me at all.

Many episodes ago, RoadKill bought from CTC a " lets buy a junkyard car, get it running and drive it back to Ca.!" I forget the details, but I guess it helps to be TV MotorTrend Hollywood types!!!! :BangHead:

I pulled a trailer up there all the way from Houston years ago to buy a 70 Duster roller.
Pics looked excellent, but when I got there it was ate up with concealed rust.
It had rear frame damage from a collision at some point, and looked like it was welded up by Stevie Wonder.
So I came home empty handed, but they did have a lot of cars.

There was a drag strip next-door that sold about six years or so ago, now it’s used as a heavy equipment parking lot

When the Sacramento Raceway closed up, years ago, you now wouldn't even know there was a race track there.
Now it's one big housing development, that there are hundreds and hundreds, of new housing, and city streets to drive around that hugh development area.
Used to race every Wednesday night, after getting off duty, from my Air Force duty.
Race track was at the back end to Mather Air Force Base.

I have been driving by there for decades and remember the first few cars being hauled in. I stopped by yesterday on my way north and it looked like they were crushing up the last few. There are lots of whole cars left which they plan to auction I hear. I have a Dart Sport Slanty and always was able to find what I needed cheaper elsewhere so never did even throw a buck their way. It is just a few miles north of Texas Motor Speedway though and I've been told those racing guys didn't mind paying premium at all. It turned out to be a good location for sure.
