Custom center console

As I put my interior back together I want to install buckets in the front and build out a center console. Some ideas I have?

I want to run the ac vents, possibly move the radio and ac controls down and have a notch for my iPad. The iPad may mean that I leave everything else in the dash. Gotta have cupholders and a storage area.

I plan to run it all the way to the back seat.

I've seen a build here before but has anyone else done it? Got pics? Ideas?
 
Here's one I built for my early-A.

I installed A/C vents in the area occupied by the stock heater controls and installed the customized A/C controls above the aftermarket radio. The radio panel is also custom made.

The console panel contains aftermarket gauges, an outlet for an iPod or cell phone charger, and a cubby to place them in. Since I'm nearly always alone in the car, I made only one cup holder.

The arm rest flips up to access a storage area and the seat control module.
