I have a custom pair of exhaust manifolds to maximize air flow without having to deal with the cost, fit, and clearance of headers.
I bought this setup for $465 in March of 2016 from long time A-body member Treblig (who is not making them anymore). Below you can find the link when he started making these custom pairs and the hard work he put into them.
The short version is this. Driver side is a 72-73 340 manifold with 2-1/4" outlet. The passenger side is the higher flow Jeep magnum manifold, originally 2-1/8" but machined out to 2-1/4" to match the driver side. Both manifolds are blasted, checked for cracks, painted with 2 coats of high-heat paint, and then oven heat cycled to cure the paint and make them ready to bolt and go. No issues with clearing power steering. No issues with hanging too low and bottoming out. Just higher flow without the BS.
Included with these are custom connection pipes so you do not have to rely on your local exhaust shop. These pipes were made by Treblig, and are very well thought out and of very high quality. The original post can give you a lot more info, and reviews from others who bought them. This package includes the special washers as well.
These manifolds are getting harder and harder to find, and add to that the labor of welding and forming the pipes and the labor to blast and paint and heat treat - you would be hard pressed to find a better quality and easier bolt on set up than this for your small block Mopar.
$465 plus UPS freight - 1 Box , 37 pounds, Shipping from 55112 (New Brighton, MN)
