cylinder head casting numbers

I found these numbers on my cylinder head under the valve cover 2843670-24.....okay I checked the numbers and it says they came from a 318 BUT it has aawj on one runner also (are they j heads).....I KNOW I took them off a 1975 360 block but the numbers are saying 318 cylinder head but from what I read/heard that j heads only came on 340/360.....Could someone help me out? Thanks......

Im not a head expert. I went here and didn't see that casting number…….

I think a "J" head would have a 3418915 casting number.
You can ignore that "aawj".

My guess is that you have 318 heads.

Looks like when the engine was built a few years ago the engine builder didn't use what I gave him :angry7: ......I thought they were the 360 heads I gave him an was goin to use them wit my next build......THIS SUCKS!!!! (in my Chris Griffith voice)......Ok....I preciate it.....

Yeah those are 318 heads from my text I have here I think, I don't see 670, I do see 675 though and they're late 60's early 70's heads.

Just because they came off a 360 specially a smog era 360 doesn't mean they're "j" heads..live and learn,oh well....
