I just use 2 old wood v blocks

I've posted these stands before
doing some 360-1 heads now
rock shaft is cut in half, extra hole drilled for using big block head also
attached to a locking collar at each end
adjustable > 360*

That looks like a good idea as well. I did make the wood V blocks and they work, it would be nice if there was just a tad more adjustability though.
