dads christmas present in the making

got frame back from powder coat last night. started on the seat boards as well. they are
1 1/4" thick oak boards. they will be sealed with a semi-gloss clear spar coat.

what you guys think?

Your seat is looking super  singing fish on the wall :D LMAO :glasses7:

im just happy to actually be doing something with that old tailgate. I'm trying as hard as i can to not be that guy that "will do something with it someday".

i got the tailgate cleaned up and cleared today. shot it in a matte clear.

i never really payed too much attention to the decal that was on the tail gate but after cleaning it up it turns out that the dealer that sold the truck was from Roswell, New Mexico. pretty cool that its still on there. i kept it and cleared over it. looks pretty cool

That is really nice. I wish my son cared enough to do something like that.

For the finishing touch, there are vendors that sell blank stainless steel bed strips that you could cut and install for the old truck look.

I do love the ol guy even though he got me hooked on the most expensive hobby known to man lol

That's great. I am glad somebody has a loving relationship as father and son.

Turned out very nice.

Weird, in your earlier photo's I could have sworn the tailgate was yellow.

Maybe it was the lighting, looks great anyway !

Verrry nice. Leaving the tailgate vintage is a definate plus. Awesome skills bro.
