daily driver car problem

Well it's not my car but my brothers. Every time he turns the key to start the car the maxi fuse pops. What you think would cause that? The car is like 95 saturn if that means anything.ops:

well I guess he lost a starter bolt and was jamming. I dont know how that blew the fuse I guess we will see tomorrow if a new bolt will help

If the starter (Bendex drive is binding due to a missing bolt, it could over heat the starter motor and take out the fuse before burning out the motor.

Personally though, it sounds like a dead short somewhere in the starting system to me, too.

does it blow a fuse when you turn the key on, or just when you go to start it?
