Okay so.
At my finger tips I have a Dana 44 and a 8 3/4. I'm wondering which I should install.

Currently I'm running a mild 318 that will be swapped out later. It has a 7 1/4 behind it.

Which one of those two would be stronger, have the most/cheapest aftermarket gears, and what not?

Probably more opinion than fact your best off with the 8 3/4.Easier to work
on,parts are plentiful and nothing else as far as gears you can have a spare
3rd member sitting around and swap the whole thing when needed.Always
alot of used sets around for not much $.

The 8 3/4 is an awsome axel. It will be plenty strong. Remember even 426 HEMI's and 440's used the 8 3/4 axel in some application. They only used the Dana 60 if they were a 4-speed. The Dana 44 is a good axel but they dont have the track record like the 8 3/4.

So after going to look at the "Dana 44" it turns out it's not a dana 44... I'm not entirely sure what it is, but that's alright since all of you chose the 8.75 over it anyways lol

im not sure but i think the 44 has c clip axles. so does the corporate 9.25. someone will correct me if im wrong.
