dana 60 - 70

-
cant find anything, its been narrowed and was chromed at one time, where would it be exactly

Look at the rib just to the bottom right edge of the center cover. The number should be cast into the housing there.

I guess that could be the date, as trying to lay a tape next to the ring I got about 10" which is closer to a 60. There's also D35 stamped on the face of the spool towards the open side of the case. If I pull the spool to get a better measurement can I just bolt it back in or will it need setup again?

Anyone got any inside dimensions for a 60 or 70 housing where the ring gear fits?

Should I also be able to just pull the axles after removing the 4 backing plate bolts?
thanks

This might help.

The Dana 70 has a bigger housing to contain the bigger ring gear; however, it still uses the same cover as the Dana 60.
