Dart manual top adjustments?

Does anyone know if there are any adjustments that can be made to help with a tight convertible top. I have a 64 dart with the manual top and newer canvas. It is over an inch above the windshield pillar and will take an army to pull it down. I live in Michigan so sunny days are difficult this time of year. I appreciate any help anyone can offer

Do you have the 64 TSM (commonly called the factory service manual)? If not you need one. My 65 TSM has a whole section on convertible tops for both installation and adjustments off the frame. My Mopars might have the 64 or 65 manuals available for download.

Thank you for the response, I have not taken time to look in the manual but I will. I appreciate the suggestion
