Dash reassembly

I have the dash taken out for painting on a 72 swinger Is it easier to assemble the dash on the bench or put it back in the car and assemble it there. It has air. Thanks Jim

do you mean the dash frame? if so, and the windshield is also out - yes put all the guts back together while benched then install it all back in the car.

That's how the factory did it. The 2 bolts are kick panels are slotted so they could take the dash assembly in, hang it on those 2 bolts and rotate it into place. Poke the bulkhead connector through the firewall and so on.
