I stripped the paint off this 67 dash to prep for fresh painted and decided to snap a pic in case someone was curious. I always paint the backs of my dashes white to reflect light in case I ever need to work back there. I'll let it dry over night and spray it flat black tomorrow....midwest weather permitting of course

"Bright" idea

I'll have to keep that in mind when mine comes apart for rebuild.

It was kind of blinding bare so I would use a flat clear coat. I was bored today so I decided to prep some parts :)

Sounds like a good use of your time and energy...I cleaned all the guns I shot yesterday, cleaned a separated a bunch of brass, and reorganized the little modular toolbox where all the cleaning equipment resides.

That painting the back of the dash white is a very good idea. Wish I had heard that as a recommendation before I reassembled mine.

It makes a huge difference. When I get the dash back in I will take a pic under there for a visual.

It's all painted and now to let it dry before assembly. I did a decent job trying to duplicate the crinkle look. I have resprayed 2 dashes already with very acceptable results with Duplicolor trim paint at around 10" from the surface so it sort of spackles as it applies. The sad part is that it only comes in black. I will post a budget dash redo with stages of my process. I will post the assembled dash pics in a few days. It took me a few hours to strip all of the paint off with that stripper wheel (pictured)

Wow nice idea, never thought of that, wish I had the powder coat people do that to the back of mine.

Looks awesome....i'm getting ready to strip down my green dash to repaint it black. The White inside is BRILLIANT!

question,,i bought my dart with the dash and windshield out already,,,Can the dash be installed with the windshield in place?
I thought for some reason the Dash had to go in FIRST.

Thanks and the dash goes in first. I like putting them in fully assembled instead of trying to put it all back together with the dash frame in bare,it makes life much simpler.

Nice work. Would love to see a closeup of paint finish. I have a 67 and 9 dash I would like to repaint.
Thanks for posting info.
