Cursory google does verify aftermarket emissions.

A few say used in California.

There was a time that if you brought a 49 state car into California you had to retrofit some stuff into it, made it drive worse than a California car of the same year.

Some of the stuff they made you do wasn't required on California born cars, maybe it was to make up for the stuff that was too difficult to change.

Find the kit and install it on your car and follow the instructions, and burn your engine up.

OP thanks for the post. I'd never heard of such a thing, so you learn something new every day. Now that I think about it, maybe the sticker was the whole "Kar Kit System". If a sticker could get you to never drive over 60 by threatening mayhem, maybe they would reduce your emissions enough to match a CA emissions car!

All well, I had a pushrod give up the ghost in the 340 , but I caught it before any Mayhem, so I had to take that complicated manifold off and I'm now waiting for parts. I'm glad I did because I caught some electrical stuff that needed work that you can't really see with all that in the way. How's life over the water there?
