Does anyone here know how to decode a data plate? This is from my 65 Dart. I've seen a page online that is supposed to allow you to decode it but I'm just not getting it. Any help is appreciated.

This is the best I can offer. THe paint code is one I'm not sure of.

1st row:
1=1 left manual o/s mirror
3=9 variable wiper w/ washer
6=2 white conv. top
8=5 stone shields

2nd row:
AB=30 273 cubic inch v8
D=5 automatic
E=5 heater w/ defroster
N=0 power top
Q=1 a-m music master/economy
V=3 back up lights
Z=2 Front bucket seats and console

3rd row:
SO B20 = November 20th, planned delivery date
06267 is the production seq. no.
L45 Dart GT 2dr convertible
P4Y - white/gold trim
AA1 - Gold Poly
A Paint - Gold metallic

data from this site:
1965 Mopar Fendertag codes

The build date having a letter indicates it was Oct=A Nov=B or Dec=C and would be built the previous year for the 65 model year as the new line started basically mid year. So B20 = Nov 20 1964

On line 3 starting at BDY the numbers under the letters on your tag are shifted 2 spaces to the left = V8 Dart convertible

The code under TRM is shifted 1 to the left P4Y = White Vyanl bucket seats with gold carpet

The code under PNT is shifted 2 to the left. AA1 A = as best as I can tell is Gold metallic mono tone

I did a bit of assuming on the paint colors as the codes and decoder did not exactly line up correctly.

If none of this seems correct Oh well I had fun!

THANK YOU. Everything you said is how the car was when I purchased it (still is, just new paint, same color). I added a passenger side mirror, other than that exactly like the tag says. Thanks again to both of you guys.
