Sadly I've parted ways with my dart, too many projects not enough money. The good news is my 13 year old brother got it and all my parts, including the dc k frame I built, and he's getting it put back together with my help. The problem is our dad and his wife don't think he should have a big block in his first car.I can't say I disagree, I've always started with slow cars and as the car got faster my driving got better. So I cut the mounts again, but instead of welding it back together I made some 3/8 thick steel plates with 4 holes in the top plate and 8 in the bottom. The idea is I can bolt the upper mounts in the small block location for now, and later move them back the proper distance without having to remove the k frame. I have pictures on my phone, but I don't know how to get them on here. I'm looking for opinions on what could cause problems so hopefully I can remedy them first.

use photobucket.com or another hosting site and get the pictures up. It's gonna be hard to do anything or say anything without seeing it.

Put the saddles back in the big block location and modify the small block mounts to fit.

I agree with Jim....modify the SB mounts // On the moveable mount idea??.....I built my DC K frame in the car with the towers cut loose from the K frame and mounted to the engine / trans bolted up. I did it this way to see if I could build in some clearance to run B body headers. I ended up shimming each tower w/1/4" plate / this raised the engine up and gave me good clearance on my 73up steering linkage and the manual steering box. Still had to do some dimpling for torsion bar clearance. Just something to think about.
