Can someone please decode my 340. I am not keeping it, changed direction, but like to know what it is. Thanks.
Left front pad: HM340R 37000187
Right side pad: 2A119682
Casting: 2780930-340-8 I understand this one.
Stamping near mount boss: 6-17-71
Clock like stamp: points to 2

R= regular.fuel or it's a low comp engine a P= would have ment premium fuel 10.5 cr.

3700 is the assembly date, September 14, 1971. 0187 187th engine built that day/

The next 5 or 6 numbers are the date the engine was assembled this is off a Julian calender. Don't have that info of the top of my head.
The 8 after the 340 means it was the 8th time their was a revision to the 340 casting mold
