Decode page/link ?

[Too Many Projects]

I will be starting on identifying and assembling a basket case and would like a link to read the trim/VIN tags and block codes to know what I'm working with. The current owner knows NOTHING about cars and has bought various components and thinks it will all fall together. The car is a '71 Demon and he claims the engine is a 360. I don't know what year. The trans is supposed to be a 904. I've already asked and received replies about needing a conversion flex plate to mate the 360/904 and conversion mounts to put the 360 in a 318 car. At this point I'm not even positive it was a 318 originally.
Any leads on where to find the info is appreciated.

Thanks for the links. Nothing I can really print out and take with so I'll get the numbers today and see what it is tonight. I think I can determine if the engine really is a 360 and that is the first important step to ordering parts.
