decodeing vin number what engine was in my car

I have 73 duster. The Von is vl29c3b******
Is the 5th spot is a "c" is that make it a /6 car.I need to know so I can order engine mounts. Thanks for help

Just because your car came with a 6 doesn't always mean you'll need those mounts. Example is that then I got my car it says it came with a 6 but when I started working on it, the car had a v8 k member bolt in there already (my car didn't come with a motor). Basically id find out which k frame/motor your using first and go from there. But yes, the 5th digit "C" does mean a /6.

The car has has 400 in it but the Guy said it wasn't right I will know better in a few. Days need to get my Toyota truck out of shop. Paid 1350.00 has new fuel tank, new exhauste, and new wheels and tires
