Deltatech's 1973 Plymouth Duster

Double checking and got a new radiator. Drivers side mount didn't fit so I had to cut and weld it. May be for a 340.

time for body work and a quick temp exhaust.
After finding a LOT of filler I decided it's going to be cheaper and faster to order new fenders.

Sanding shaping smoothing day and night for weeks and Picasso isn't staying. I can't get these fenders straight.
Put it together to take it apart.

November 2019-Feb 2020. I don't have the tools or time to save the fenders so ordered new ones but it cost $750.
After 3 weeks of sanding she's ready for primer.

Locker was delivered, test fitting the shortened 9 inch with new 32 spline, and ordered new XHD leafs.
Working on the dash and interior at the same time.

September 2020- Had to get a yoke. May as well put in the shift kit.
You can see my Brothers 72' 440 Duster in primer, He built his in the 90's or early 00's. He's a member here too.
I'm very proud of him and thankful for all of his help getting my bucket together. I could have done it without him but wouldn't have wanted to! lol

The rear is coming together. My Brothers 72' and my 73' side by side!
The cars really do reflect our personalities. His is a straight up ,no title, trailered, big block, race car with about 650-700 Hp, mine's a street legal 325-350HP,small block, daily driver.

And now they look like pizza cutters time for new wheels!
I didn't get pics but we did the 4 wheel disc conversion to Gm metric brakes. Oh and 5 on 4.5 hubs, new 32 spline axels, 3.70 gears and a Detroit locker.
My Brothers friend Steve who build 9' rearends for the coal mines crawlers put the pumpkin together and set up the gears for a few cases of Beer!
Thanks again Steve!
My Brother has a lot more welding experience and could run a better bead than I since I served in the Army, He became a Machinist. So he welded it so it would hold.
We test fitted a 395/50 Mickey Thompson and it actually fit! It didn't rub but I wouldn't run em. One really good bump and the lip would contact the tread.

It's 6 years since it's rebirth and doing fine. Total cost was $15k and I've been driving it 6 years and it's needed an alignment the whole time, the trans has a small leak that I can't find and I'm already putting together 2x 360's for free and 2x 440's for $200 that I've picked up since becoming an Old School Mopar guy..and I now have 5 more......318's for free.

Repainted the original color? If you take it to cruise ins and car shows get ready for the I Used To Have One Like That comments non-stop. Those Gold Dusters were everywhere back in the day. Now very few left out there rarely ever see them anymore.

Your car is cool. That body style has aged very well. And nice work too.

It's a GM color Carmaro Gold, I couldn't find the original paint anywhere, and looked hard.
I had the paint code like something j8.

I've always wanted a tunnel ram sticking out of the hood like I saw on the cool cars at the drag strip as a kid in the mid 80's.....
Of COURSE FEDEX DAMAGED IT during shipping. so,but alas... now that I'm older, responsible enough to handle Horse power on the street, and almost dead.......
Drumm rollll!!!!

First 440 500HP build
Stealth Heads and FEDEX damaged these too.
Comp 282 .507/.509 lift cam
edelbrock timing set
Sealed power .30 Forged Pistons
Block decked and squared, bored .30
std cast crank, stock rockers.
