Looking for some references on the 71-72 Dodge Demon. Too many cudas - chargers - challengers out there. Seen a few of the 340s (love the sublime and ornage with the blacked out hood!) - how are they different from a Duster - differences in hood config - etc. Looking to retire the 66 GT pony and load up on some muscle.

There are only 3 differences (that I know of) between a Duster and Demon. Badging, front grill and rear tail lights. Here's my 71 Demon.

The demon uses the front fenders, hood and grill from the Dart. from the front fenders rearward it's all duster, untill you reach the unique tail panel.

I've seen two or three different hoods on the demon 1. looks like tunnel ram air, two separate tunnels on each side of the hood 2. more of a one piece, very large forced air with what looks like a divided airway 3 your average, everyday JEGS type hood scoop.

I'm asuming the 318 is a small block - the 340 a big block(?)
Did the 340 come with a six-pack set up?

I love this set up

i have had demon's in the past and presently own a 1971 with a 6 that will be swapped out. The demon's came only with the six or 318, and 340 small blocks. The six-pack was not an option for a demon. Four barrels only and No big blocks. Also the Go-wing in the pictures were optional as neither of my demon's have had them. The trunk lids are all made to accept them though. The only factory scoops were the double small scoops that are on the demon in the pictures. The large scoop you are talking about is something that someone added on, probably because they installed a big block.

The 1972's came with a dual snorkle type scoop. They were an option on all Demons that year. In 1973 they changed the name and the style. It became the Dart Sport.
