Ive been working on this 71 demon for a guy & seams like every thing i do or try to do something goes wrong. I have never in my 30 plus years of doing restorations have so much go wrong. The most resent thing is i put the side stripes on & i know dam well there wasnt small wrinkles in the rt quarter stripe. The owner looked it & said hey things happen ill just order new ones. OK fine. I take the stripes off & everything is going fine until i get to the rt quarter. About 6 inches of the stripe took off the clear coat. I never seen that before & everyone ive talked to didnt either. To make this part of the story short i get more base to blend that quarter & its way to dark. The aftermarket junk scoops dont line up with the original wholes on the bottom side of the hood. He wants the scoops black. Ive painted many fiberglass parts & never got fish eyes. It doesnt matter what i seal them with or clean them with the one scoop i always get fish eyes. LMAO Ive buffed many stainless trim & the lt side rear window molding ended up like a pretzel. Im refinishing the dash bezel for him. I tape off the black part, scuff it, clean it & paint it with the same satin black ive use before. It turned out nice. At lease i thought. I come in the next day & half looks like the right shade & the other half looks like i cleared it. O i can go on & on. This car is killing me mentally, physically, & financially. He asked me to put the car together for him. All but the engine & trans. O boy here we go LMAO

Sucks . Been there. FYI I learned with fiberglass you have to wash and keep wet about 15 - 20 minutes with some water and bleach. Mold/fungus lives in the pores and creates fisheye. I had a truck cap do this. I painted the topside of my boat with no issues after washing.

I had a 71 Demon 340 Top Banana yellow that was turned into an ISCA show car with wild paint and custom interior back in the day. I bought it to restore and had no luck at all with it! I ended up selling it 4 times, every time someone bought it the damn car would come back somehow in a trade. Each time it came back more things were wrong with it. The fourth time I sold it I told the guy I didn't want to hear from him ever again!

I have a 71 Demon and the car is possessed. Seems Like a never-ending battle to get this car done. I have been working on the car for two weeks straight and either the parts are defective, or the car hates them. Either way keep the faith it will get done.

I've had projects go this way. Every damn thing went wrong, sideways, broke, failed, launched itself (famous saying of my dad) or disappeared from existence (I know I had that piece...). It just seams every now and then the constellations align, chakra's go awry, and the Feng shui is just all wrong. But keep at it, the ship will right its self. Sometimes you have to stop, get away from it and come back with a fresh mind and eyes.

Answer is simple..it is a DEMON..... ya know. But the good thing is, it has not tried to kill ya. I had a 65 Dart that tried in several ways to KILL ME!
