Demon Stripe...which is correct

On the tail panel of the Demon, most of the time the black strip is split down the middle of the car with body color showing through. Occasionally, I see it solid black. Is the one in the attached photo correct, or should it be solid black?

I agree, the only solid one's I've seen were painted on.
