Did I get to "Greedy" Today? Did a double car show Saturday and the ending not so good!

Glad you posted that. Pictures don't always tell the whole story.
It's hard to Explain a 25/30/40 year dream of keeping, let alone restoring a car you were able to hold on to for so long. Then after more than 10 years of enjoyment in that state to instantly alter it!
How to express the emotions, through pictures or thoughts only come out through time! I can tell you that the amount of people I have befriended on this website and all the car shows over the last
10.5 years is astronomical! Car Folks are Americans through and through! When we car hurt, We reach out! Yes!

Rusty,

Might be the time to finish the whole "Stock" thing. Put the factory wheels and redlines on, suspension parts are bent so the engine/trans and K will be coming back out the bottom again. It is still 4" bolt pattern
I have 3 wheels. I have the repro 893 pan and pickup! The car has been out there for 10.5 years now and maybe a re-model during this repair is a good idea.
I LOVE that idea. Go for it. You listed the parts you knew were toast. Fortunately, most of those parts are fairly easy to find. Hagarty advertises that they will search for hard-to-find parts for you. They will take good care of you.

Wow, that looks like a wild ride! Glad yer still here.

Yea thanks. I was lucky. Me, a ditch, and trees. I hope the OP gets it fixed. Best of luck. Mine did not buff out.

Gerald, I'm just now seeing this.

Man, I have no words except to say I'm very sorry about your car and im very glad you survived relatively unscathed.

I'll be following along on your rebuild.

Thanks Master Sargent! Hope You and Yours are well!

I am hoping Haggarty does not total it, 70% of value insured is the threshold. Max they allowed on the car was 45K. I do not want to have to settle and have a salvage title.

I am just fine. Goes to show you we may not need air bags, all these shoulder belts and safety bumpers etc, etc. I took a good solid hit with only a lap belt and was just fine.

Not even sore days later or anything on this 62 year old frame! Will be taking some parts off this weekend to see under the obvious for the hidden damage.

Thanks for the Shout out!

It don't take much of a hard lick to a tweak those front frame rails those things really do crease easily

Man, what a bummer to see. Most important is that you are okay. I got caught in some rain coming home from a cruise night last Monday in one of my cars. That was the first time in many years. It has just normal radial tires on it. It is amazing how easy it slips and slides all over the roads. I am surprised as many of these cars still exist today as there are. Not surprising how many did get totaled out over the years.

Yup its wierd in these cars in the rain like making a left turn and someone is coming you think "well I know if I leave hard the wheels will spin rear end will slide out...I better wait..."

And with a "Tight" SureGrip does it add to the fun and or consequence once it breaks loose?

Sorry to see that, you need to go where I was yesterday. Wildcat auto wreckers had everything I needed after a 50 year old tree fell across the the hood & fenders of my 70 duster.

I had 20+ years of insurance without even a HINT of a claim. I had a front tire (over 10 years old) blowout on the expressway. It tore off the left front fender along with some other minor damage. I was expecting an argument from the adjuster…outdated tire blow out being the cause. I was VERY pleasantly surprised that they handled my claim better than I expected. Hopefully you’ll have a similar good experience on the claim part of this adventure. I think my insurance company was American Collectors Car Insurance.

As long as you are not hurt mo problem , cars can be fixed and your car does not look like it has that much damage . Good luck gretting it fixed , it sucks but not as much as if you were injured

Glad you're okay. I know they don't look as cool, but this is one reason I've been running good all-season tires for years now. I did the "Street/Strip" radials when I was younger and always felt they were a deathtrap in any amount of water, even in something modern with traction control.
